What we do

We offer evidence-based, person-centred support that helps people build skills, independence, and brighter futures.

  • We provide evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for children, young people, and adults with disability. Our approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and focused on building quality of life, independence and skills, not just reducing behaviours of concern.

    Our Behaviour Support services include:

    • Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA): to understand why behaviours occur and identify underlying needs.

    • Behaviour Support Plans (Interim and Comprehensive): practical, individualised strategies to be used across home, school, and community.

    • Risk assessments: identifying environmental, systemic, and individual risks to inform safe, supportive practice.

    • Training of support teams: ensuring strategies are understood, used consistently, and adapted to real-world settings.

    • Data collection systems: helping teams monitor behaviours, track outcomes, and make informed decisions.

    • Skill development programs: building communication, regulation, independence, and coping skills.

    • Oversight of restrictive practices: supporting compliance with NDIS Commission requirements, with a focus on safety, transparency, and fade-out planning.

Our clinicians specialise in high-risk and complex cases, including individuals with psychosocial disabilities. We recognise the interplay between mental health and disability, which is often overlooked, and we see bridging this gap as a critical part of our work.

  • We offer counselling that is flexible, practical, and strengths-based. Sessions are adapted to meet the communication and developmental needs of each person, whether that’s through conversation, visuals, or creative activities. Our counselling style is gentle and collaborative, drawing on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies.

    Counselling can support with:

    • Emotional regulation and coping skills.

    • Adjusting to life changes and transitions.

    • Building self-esteem and confidence.

    • Managing stress, anxiety, or low mood.

We believe the best conversations happen when people feel comfortable. That’s why we meet people where they’re at, whether it’s while shooting hoops, going for a walk, cooking together, or sitting down for a chat.

Counselling can be accessed using NDIS funding (Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living) or on a private basis. For some participants, counselling is also integrated with behaviour support for a consistent and holistic approach.

  • We provide consulting services to organisations, support coordinators, and teams seeking expert guidance in disability and behaviour support. Our aim is to strengthen team capacity and confidence so participants receive consistent, safe, and effective support.

    Areas of focus include:

    • Staff training in Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed care, and best practice approaches.

    • Restrictive practices: compliance, reporting, and developing practical fade-out plans.

    • Data collection systems to monitor behaviours of concern, track progress, and guide decision-making.

    • Mental Health First Aid and crisis management training to equip staff with real-world skills in responding to escalation.

    • Risk assessments that consider environmental, systemic, and participant-specific factors.

    • Functional assessments and reports to support access to PBS funding under the NDIS.

    • Therapeutic management plans for individuals without NDIS behaviour support funding, where restrictive practices are not present.

    • Case consultation and supervision for support staff and allied health teams.

    • Tailored strategies to support team culture, resilience, and improved participant outcomes.

Why choose us?

At Brighter Behaviour Co, we do things differently. Our approach is grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and guided by evidence-based, trauma-informed practice, but it’s our compassion, understanding, and collaboration that truly set us apart. We take the time to understand the person behind the behaviour, working closely with families, support teams, and organisations to create strategies that are practical, consistent, and meaningful.

We believe real change comes from connection, not control. That’s why every plan we design focuses on building skills, independence, and quality of life. With a balance of professional expertise and lived experience, our team delivers support that is not only effective, but human

Our services can be billed via an NDIS plan, or privately funded.
